The Thigh Uncovered: From Fascia to Function
Dissection & Movement livestream with Todd Garcia & Anneke Krüger
Feel and Embody
See and Embrain
FEEL and EMBODY the anatomy and fascia movement qualities of the myofascia of the thigh through FAMO Fascia Movement® sequences with Anneke Krüger and then SEE and EMBRAIN the myofascial structures through fresh tissue dissection by Master Dissector Todd Garcia.
During each session Anneke will guide you through a short movement practice to review the myofascial structures in focus for the session. You will explore through movement how specific fascia movement qualities might be enhanced to promote better functionality and ease of movement in the area…and beyond.
Todd’s expert fresh tissue dissection will then reveal the myofascial structures, how they relate to one another, show movement potential and demonstrate the fascia movement qualities we felt during the movement session.
These sessions will help you embody and embrain the myofascia of the thigh and offer new ideas of how to approach this area of the body through resource-orientated integrative movement. You will gain an understanding of how fascia-focused training can enhance existing training protocols.
Our dissections are layered from the superficial tissues to neighbouring and deeper structures for a clear understanding of the intimate relationship between the myofascial structures of the thigh and how these relationships influence function.
This livestream event will be delivered through Zoom webinar, moderated by Todd and Anneke, featuring multiple camera views and detailed anatomical exploration through fresh tissue/untreated cadavers.
All Movement Teachers, this interactive dissection and movement livestream is for YOU!
Session 1: Form follows function
In this session we experience through movement:
Abductors – dynamic stabilisers and movers
Fascia lata, Iliotibial band - adding an energy efficient spring to your step
Fascia Movement qualities in focus: Muscle collaboration, Multidimensionality, Elasticity
Bonus qualities (if time): Force Transmission, Glide. The fascia lata as a force distribution structure and the importance of glide within and around the myofascial structure of the thigh.
In this session you will see the following structures during dissection:
